leon: 150 year anniversary of the assassination of abraham lincoln. first, nine bank robberies in the span of a few months. the fbi has called them the black hat bandits. tonight, a break in the case as one suspect confesses. alison: the investigation does not and there. roz plater has how the police found the suspect. roz: the fbi is not commenting, but up until now the best clue was the footprint left in the snow by the bank robbers last month -- that was until this bank was robbed 10 days later. investigators got lucky with the robbery at this wells fargo in northwest d.c. the afternoon of march 13. a man wearing a dark jacket, sunglasses, a mask, and gloves walks in. he yelled a three times, give me

money or out kill a customer. when he left, a law enforcement officer saw him slide into a black chevy suburban park nearby. half an hour later, they tracked him to this apartment building on 19th place southeast. inside the suburban, they spotted the jacket and sunglasses and they arrested two men. the document said that george admitted to robbing the wells fargo bank and eight others in virginia and maryland. >> they need to get people like that off the streets. >> i'm glad they are making progress. roz: the fbi has investigating nine bank robbery since january from the black hat bandits. brazen robbers who burstyn, guns drawn, their identities hidden by disguises. workers in the banks that were targeted say -- >> i'm glad. i was kind of nervous working here. roz: even though the fbi is

looking for a group of suspects, the trouble is the suspects were wearing very good disguises. roz plater, abc 7 news. leon: right now, the police are searching for robbers who targeted a bowie bank of america today. one of them was wearing a hazmat suit. they threatened employees and stole cash just after 9:30 this morning. nobody was hurt. alison: rain is moving out and we have better weather tomorrow. steve rudin is here with the forecast. steve: finally getting the rain out of hair. we had quite a bit, anywhere between a quarter inch, some places with more of an inch. doppler radar right now moving closer come inside the capital beltway, lingering showers around southeast d.c., moving off to the north and east. further to the north and west, northern montgomery county

camera video to the public and the press. when the d.c. police department rolls out its officer a body camera program in the fall accountability is the word of the day. mayor muriel bowser wants to expand the small private program so there are eventually 2800 body cameras in the nation's capital. mayor bowser: we want the police to have the protection of having a film of incidents and we want the public to know that film exists so that every interaction we have the ability to hold officials accountable. jay: but she is also concerned about giving the public and the press full access to the videos through freedom of information act requests. she wants to protect the privacy of people captured by police body cameras, and she thinks the city will not have the time staffing, or resources to look over hours of footage. mayor bowser: i think what we will find his specific cases

where a video or people involved in the incident request that specific information. if we get a black it will become a problem. -- if we get a blanket request it will become a problem. jay: there will be a public hearing at some point in time. alison: new information about a child biography investigation involving a fairfax county police officer. according to a warrant, the police searched the home of the officer last thursday. that officer, a 15 year veteran of the department, has been relieved of his duties. the police searched his home took a laptop, ipad, hard drive, thumb drives, and cameras. as of now the officer has not been charged. leon: a cybe tip led to charges against a 22-year-old in

woodbridge with hundreds of images of child pornography. he was arrested friday and is facing several charges. he is being held without bond. alison: a woman has life-threatening injuries after being hit by a van in fort washington at bock and kingsway road this afternoon. the victim was not at a crossroad when she was hit and the driver remained at the scene. roads in the area were closed for a time but have reopened. leon: police are investigating a shooting at a key minute he college in north carolina and the possibility of a hate crime. the suspect appeared in a florida courtroom today. and a confession filled with obscenities, he admitted to killing his former boss. he was found on a florida beach this morning, hours after the police say that he killed ron lane, possibly because lane was gay. >> we are not going to let this heinous act interfere with with

this college is all about. leon: the man claims that stansill molested a relative, but investigators say that is am still satiated -- but investigators say that is not substantiated. in oklahoma, the reserve deputy sheriff who shot a man killed himself in. robert bates said he meant to uses taser but accidentally picked up his gun instead. he shot eric harris to death during a sting operation in tulsa this morning. he was charged with second-degree murder. alison: it has been 150 years since president abraham lincoln was assassinated at ford's theater. events were held today to commemorate that historic tragedy. tom roussey is at the theater live. tom? tom: exactly 150 years ago

there was a big crowd on the street that had gathered, and that is the case as well right now. the big crowd has come out to remember abraham lincoln. he was shot in ford's theater across the street, then he was brought into the street and folks do until somebody at this home offered to take them inside. it was here that he ultimately died the next morning. huge crowds have come out, and many through the day have also been taking in many of the artifacts in the area relating to lincoln's assassination. 150 years ago tonight, inside ford's theater, john wilkes booth shot president lincoln from behind as he sat in his chair. as booth leapt from the box, his spur called on the portrait of george washington. he fell to the stage. injured, he hobbled in this direction to get away. across kent street, the very gun that booth used, along with the coat and hat that lincoln was

wearing. >> the gun in the bloodstained items are in this display. tom: although the gun is displayed in northwest, other items are at the national museum of health and medicine in silver spring. there are pieces of lincoln skull and hair and the bloodstained items from the surgeon who performed the autopsy. >> they can connect with something that happened so long ago in a very personal way. tom: back live, there are reenactors who will be here through the night talking about what life was like the night that lincoln was assassinated. for some of them that you are looking at, if you want to come to this, you can come down here because all night long not only will there be folks on the streets, there will be a person announcing updates on the

-- unanimously approved the bill. president obama threatened to veto the measure, but has said it will likely pass. requires the administration to periodically update congress on iran's compliance with the deal. during that time, they would not be up to lift sanctions that congress has placed on iran. cuba has been taken off the list of the state sponsors of terrorism. the obama administration said the cuban government has not provided support to international terrorism in the last six months. cuba says it will not do so in the future. by removing cuba from the list, it paves the way for the opening of u.s. embassies in havana. alison: tsa agents accused of scheming to grope travelers. where it was happening and how they did it. and disturbing dash cam video shows an officer ramming into a suspect.

alison: newly released police dash cam video shows this arizona officer hitting an armed suspect with his vehicle. it was a dramatic end to a crime spree including a home invasion, robbery, and fire at a church. the incident happened in february. the suspect was taken to the hospital and then goes to jail. leon: hard to say that he was only in the hospital two days. the dea is accused of having sex
